Deceased CoSIDA to Meet at San Diego Workshop

Del Boca Vista, Fla. – Deceased CoSIDA will hold a meeting at the 2007 workshop in San Diego, announced board members at a spirited gathering at the gated community’s third phase recreation room today.

“The current organization just doesn’t reach out to us anymore,” said Morty Hunsacker, part time sports publicist at Coral Cables Community College. “They talk and I don’t hear a thing they're saying,” groused the septuagenarian SID, while adjusting his hearing aid.

The group plans a number of social activities in America’s Finest City. “We will have our annual theme party. This year it will be entitled ‘Balderdash: a tribute to Swing Music’ performed by Tom Foolery and the Curmudgeons. It’s hard for a lot of these gentlemen to meet their deadlines since most use a typewriter. Our dues paying members just like to let off a little steam, or some gas.”

DC hopes to again play a friendly softball match against its younger brethren. “Did you see that box score when we played them last year?” exclaimed Hunsacker. “They had eight guys named 'Anonymous.'”

The group will have a table (next to the restroom near the registration table) seeking new members in San Diego. “It’s a misconception that we only admit dead folks,” Hunsacker said. “We’ll take the poor, tired, and disenfranchised. We even welcome shot clock operators, Libero trackers and permanent job seekers.”

The organization was founded as Dead CoSIDA in the roaring twenties. “Times change,” said Hunsacker. “There were no dames in the business back in the day. Some of the fellas felt the name was not politically correct.”

DC, however, is not just a social off-shoot of a national professional organization. “We believe in community service,” said Hunsacker. “Our members forward 3-percent of their social security checks to the Human Fund. All of us are organ donors. I’m hopeful that one of the young bucks will inherit my heart, because that is what is missing in our business today.”
